ALCPT Military Vocabulary 2026 — Essential Words and Phrases for the Test

Vocabulary is foundational to success in both ALCPT sections. This guide covers the most frequently tested military and general vocabulary in the ALCPT.

Headquarters (HQ) Main command center Report to headquarters immediately
Commander Officer in charge The commander issued the order
Personnel People employed in an organization All personnel must attend the briefing
Equipment Tools and gear Check your equipment before departure
Drill Military training exercise The emergency drill was conducted at 0800
Briefing Short informational meeting The morning briefing starts at 0700
Conduct To carry out / behavior Conduct yourself professionally at all times
Authorize To give official permission Only authorized personnel may enter
